Limitations
Extremely lipemic and hemolyzed samples or patients with cold agglutinins cannot be tested
with this methodology as the ESR is read by locating the interface between the sedimented
RBC and plasma.   Therefore, the above conditions render the interface undetectable.

Male < 50 yrs. 0-15mm
Male >50 yrs. 0-20mm
Female < 50 yrs. 0-20mm
Female > 50 yrs. 0-30mm


Clinical Significance
Non-specific indicator of disease or inflammation.
