Instructions
Deliver on ice.  Specimen must be centrifuged within 15 minutes and analyzed within 30 minutes.

Specimen Stability
No Add-On

20 - 25 oC: 30 minutes
2 - 8 oC: 4 hours once the plasma has been separated from the cells

Setup Schedule
This assay is performed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. 
It is available as a STAT.


Reference Range
21 - 95 ug/dL (0 - 1 month old)
18 - 74 ug/dL (1 - 12 months old)
17 - 68 ug/dL (12 months - 14 years old)
16 - 60 ug/dL (> 14 years old)


Clinical Significance
This test is used in the diagnosis of hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic coma, hepatic failure, and Reye's syndrome.
