1.8 and 2.7 mL (2 tube sizes).  Sample MUST be drawn to minimum fill line on tube or the sample will be rejected as QNS.


Instructions
To prevent QNS sample draws:  If the sodium citrate tube is the only sample to be collected with a butterfly collection device, draw a discard tube first OR collect after drawing other samples.

Limitations


No interference up to 1 IU/mL of heparin, 500 mg/dL hemoglobin, 1000 mg/dL triglycerides, 30 mg/dL bilirubin.
Results may be affected by many commonly administered drugs. Further studies should be made to determine the source of unexpected abnormal results.

Normal: 0.9-1.3; Therapeutic Range: Varies with clinical indication

Monitor Coumadin anticoagulant therapy.
