Instructions
Nasopharyngeal swab:
Detailed instructions come with each collection kit, obtained from Microbiology lab, 6-5785.
Insert (flocked end with thin flexible shaft) through nose into the posterior nasopharynx and, rotate the swab.
Keep the swab near the septum and floor of the nose.
Place the inoculated swab into the UTM medium and break off the shaft where scored.
Fit the top of the shaft into the lid of the tube and screw top onto tube securely.
