Methodology
ELISA technique is used to detect antibodies to B2 Glycoprotein I
Setup Schedule
1x / week, weekdays between 8-4 pm. Sample is frozen until testing is performed.
Limitations
When negative anti-b2GPI titers are found in the presence of clinical indications, lupus anticoagulant, anticardiolipin, or other additional testing is indicated. Diagnosis can not be made on the basis of anti-B2GPI testing alone; results must be interpreted in conjunction with physical findings.
Reference Range
IgG: 0-20 SGU
IgM: 0-20 SMU
Clinical Significance
Marker for thrombotic risk, used in conjunction with ACA (Anti Cardiolipin Antibodies)
