Clinical Significance
Hepatits B core IgM antibody has been detected in most acute infections and is a reliable marker for acute disease.  In some cases, hepatits B core IgM antibody may be the only specifiec marker for the diagnosis of acute infection with patients with hepatitis B virus.  All reactive Hepatitis B core antibody, Total will be reflexed to Hepatits B core IgM at an additional charge.
