Genprobe kits are specified for males and females.  Transport tubes must be capped tightly to prevent leakage of fluid.

Negative If positive, reported as Chlamydia tractomatis.


Clinical Significance
Useful for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis in female endocervical and male urethral swabs. Gen Probe Transport kit available in Microbiology Dept.
