Preferred Specimen
1.0 mL plasma, 24-hour urine collection


Instructions
Both plasma and urine are required for this test. Plasma specimen should be drawn during the 24-hour period of urine collection. Draw blood in an PST tube. Spin down and send refrigerated. Note: Label specimen appropriately (plasma). Also, submit an entire 24-hour urine collection in a urine container supplied. No preservative. Send specimen refrigerated. Note: 1. Starting and ending times of collection and total volume are required on request form for processing. 2. See "Urine Collection" in "Special Instructions." 3. Label specimen appropriately (urine).
