Preferred Specimen
10 g of formalin-preserved stool


Instructions
Collect a stool specimen using a toilet cap or place a clean piece of wax paper over the toilet seat. Transfer enough specimen to the collection vial until the liquid reaches the Red Line on the container label. Mix well.  Label container with patient's name (first and last), DOB, date, time of collection. Note: Stool specimen must be preserved within 1 hour of collection.
