MessageIf positive, identification and antimicrobial susceptibility will be performed at an additionals charge. For diagnostic purposes, clinical specimens should be collected before the initiation of therapy since even a few days of treatment may render the culture negative. Preferred Specimen
Aspirate from the sinus. Swab specimens are acceptable, but not perferred.
Instructions
Aseptically collect a needle aspirate or swab from the sinus cavity. Label the specimen with patient name, first & last, D.O.B., date and time of collection. Note Specimen source is required on request form for processing.
