Note: If platelet clumps are noted on instrument results and smear, a Sodium Citrate tube may be requested for result verification. In this instance the platelet count will not be reported but an estimate of normal, decreased or increased will be provided.  


Instructions
Draw a full, lavender-top (EDTA) tube and send EDTA whole blood.
Stable for 24 hours at room temperature.
