Instructions
Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube. Place tube in a waterbath at 37º C for 1 hour. After incubation, immediately spin down, separate serum from cells and send 2.0 mL of serum.

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Gold tube is not acceptable.

Clinical Significance
Diagnosis of autoimmune disorders, cytomegalovirus, infectious mononucleosis, lymphocytic leukemia, lymphoma, and toxoplasmosis as well as miscellaneous disorders such as chronic liver disease and sarcoidosis.
