Instructions
Submit only 1 of the following specimens: Endocervix (Female only) 1. Remove excess mucus from exocervix with large-tipped cleaning swab provided in kit and discard. 2. Spermicidal agents and feminine powder sprays interfere with the assay and should not be used prior to collection. 3. Insert small-tipped specimen swab into endocervix, and rotate swab for 15-30 seconds to ensure adequate sampling. 4. Place swab in a sterile culture transport tube. Note: 1. Specimen source is required on request form for processing. Urethra (Males only) 1. Insert small-tipped specimen swab 2-4 cm into urethra, and rotate swab for 3-5 seconds to ensure adequate sampling. 2. Place swab in a sterile culture transport tube. 4. Specimen source is required on request form for processing.
