Patient should consume an adequate meal prior to testing.


Transport room temp <2 hours if cells and serum are not separated.
Transport refrigerated same day if cells and serum are separated.

Instructions
           1.  Have patient consume and adequate meal(usually breakfast or lunch).
           2.  Note the time the meal is complete.
           3.  Draw or order a timed draw of a glucose(nonfasting) at two hours after the completion of the meal.
           4.  It is useful to note on the order, the meal after which the specimen was drawn.

48 hrs if refrigerated, refrigerate within 4 hours.
