Instructions
Random Urine Calcium specimens should be acidified with 6N HCl to prevent calcium salt precipitation. 

To a 3 mL aliquot of well mixed urine add 2 - 3 drops of 6N HCl.  Mix aliquot and verify pH is < 3.  The amount of HCl added should be proportional to the volume of the aliquot so as not to dilute the sample.

48 hrs if refrigerated.  Refrigerate within 4 hours.
