NOTE: Special collection and stability requirements

Outreach/Outpatients:
 

  • 1 gray top tube - place on ice immediately following collection of sample
  • Centrifuge, remove plasma and place plasma on ice within 15 minutes
  • Transport immediately to SRHC for testing
  • If immediate transport is not possible, send patient to SRHC for collection due to stability requirements

Inpatients:
 

  • 1 gray top tube - place on ice immediately following collection of sample
  • Send to laboratory immediately for testing
