Duodenal, duodenal aspirate, or small bowel aspirate is not acceptable for this test. This test is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for these types of sources.

 

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

 

Specimen Type: Stool, fresh

Container/Tube: Screw-capped, sterile container

Specimen Volume: Entire collection

Collection Instructions:  

1. Label container with patient’s name (first and last), date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.

2. Grossly bloody stool or very mucoid stool is not acceptable.

 

Specimen Type: Stool, preserved

Container/Tube: 3-Vial Stool Collection Kit provided

Specimen Volume: Entire collection

Collection Instructions: Label vials with patient’s name (first and last), date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.
