Clinical Significance
Chloroform is most widely used as a solvent for many compounds such as waxes, oils and rubber. Inhalation of large quantities can cause hypotension, respiratory and myocardial depression. General symptoms may include skin burns, vomiting, salivation, gastrointestinal upset, sweet odor of the breath and cold, clammy skin.
