Instructions
Begin collection by rubbing the vein with a Chloraprep applicator for about thirty seconds, moving out in a concentric circle with a diameter of approximately 3 inches. Use of aseptic technique for collection and handling is a necessity. Adult: 1 full 7 mL Red Top tube *Pediatric minimum: 2 full red microtainers*
Transport Temperature
Transport to the Microbiology Laboratory immediately after collection.
