Patient must not consume any alcohol for 24 hours prior to collection. Patient age is required on the test request form. Include information regarding treatment, family history, and tentative diagnosis. Serum or plasma must be separated from cells within 45 minutes of venipuncture. Send serum or plasma in a plastic transfer tube.
