Instructions
For the best results, stool specimens should be collected after onset of symptoms. Minimum: 1 gram formed stool OR 1 mL liquid stool Stool specimens may be collected by the method routinely utilized by the laboratory, providing no dilution of the specimen occurs. A sample may be collected into a clean, dry container free of detergent residue or obtained from a diaper.


Transport Temperature
Transport to the laboratory as soon as possible after collection. Specimens may be stored between 2-8 degrees Celsius for up to 3 days prior to testing. For longer storage, specimens should be frozen at -20 degrees Celsius.
