Instructions

Protect from light. Adult: Minimum 2.5 mL blood *Pediatric minimum: 1 full microtainer*

Transport Temperature

It is recommended that tubes of blood are to be kept closed at all times and in a vertical position. It is required that the serum or plasma be physically separated from contact with cells within two hours from the time of collection. Yellow tube must clot for 30 minutes prior to centrifugation. Separated specimens are stable for 1 day at 20 to 25°C, 7 days at 2 to 8°C, or 6 months at -20°Cor colder. Stored specimens must be inspected for particulates. If present, mix and centrifuge the specimen to remove particulates prior to testing. Liver Panel should not be perfomed on a specimen that is > 24 hours old unless it has been protected from light.
