Lab Only: This test is specifically designed for CF patients, 24 hours after the medication dose. MINIMUM 0.5 mL blood. It is recommended that tubes of blood are to be kept closed at all times and in a vertical position. It is required that the serum or plasma be physically separated from contact with cells within two hours from the time of collection. Analyze fresh specimens, if possible. Separated samples may be stored at 2 to 8°C for up 7 days and frozen at -20°C for up to 14 days. Stored specimens must be inspected for particulates. If present, mix and centrifuge the specimen to remove.
