Instructions

2 White top tubes (PPT) No shared samples. All Locations: Intended for use in conjunction with clinical presentation and other laboratory markers as an indicator of disease prognosis and/or effectiveness. This test is not a diagnostic test for HIV. Testing is not available STAT. HIV1 Viral Loads are batched once a day and performed Monday-Friday (except holidays), 1st shift only. To be run on the next day’s batch, the appropriate sample must be in the Molecular Pathology department by 2PM (Monday - Friday) for processing.

Transport Temperature

For White Top tubes: Centrifuge white top tubes (PPT) within 24 hours of collection. Spin at room temperature for 20 minutes at 800-1600g. Store spun white top tubes (PPT) in refrigerator at 2-8°C. Send all specimens to lab on same day of collection for proper processing. Call for STAT pick-up if necessary.
