Instructions
TO LAB IMMEDIATELY, DO NOT CENTRIFUGE TUBE, no pneumatic tube allowed, no exposure to ice or cold. Blood tubes must be filled to the stated volume. Over- or under-filled tubes will be rejected. Adult: 2.7 mL exactly in (Lt blue tube- 2 tubes required) AND 2 mL in EDTA (lavender tube) *Pediatric minimum: 2 regular size (adult) Lt blue tubes AND at LEAST 1/2 full EDTA (lavender) microtainer* Care must be taken to avoid contamination of the specimen with tissue thromboplastin. With difficult venipunctures, a waste tube is recommended before filling the blue tube.


Transport Temperature
Testing must be complete within 4 hours of collection. DO NOT CENTRIFUGE TUBE. Stability: 4 hours from collection.
