Instructions
Preferred specimen: 3 mL serum collected in serum separator tube (min: 1mL serum) Acceptable specimen(s): Serum in plain red top tube or plasma in lavender EDTA tube


Transport Temperature
Specimen: Serum (preferred) or plasma Volume: 3 mL Minimum Volume: 1 mL (Note: This volume does not allow for repeat testing.) Specimen Container: Red-top tube, gel-barrier tube, or plasma EDTA tube Specimen Collection: Serum/plasma must be separated from cells within 45 minutes of venipuncture. Send serum/plasma in a plastic transport tube. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested. Transport Temperature: Frozen Stability: Room Temp: 7 days Refrigerate: 7 days Frozen: 7 days Freeze/Thaw Cycles: Stable x3 Turn-around-time (From date of pickup of specimen by Labcorp): 5-12 days Causes for Rejection: Gross hemolysis, gross lipemia
