Instructions
Preferred specimen: Urine, stabilized in cobas® PCR Media Special instructions: Urine samples must be transferred to the cobas® PCR Urine Sample Kit within 24 hours of collection.


Transport Temperature
Specimen: Urine, stabilized in cobas® PCR Media Volume: Fill urine to fall within the 2 black lines on the cobas® PCR Media tube. Minimum Volume: Fill urine to fall within the 2 black lines on the cobas® PCR Media tube. Specimen Container: cobas® PCR Media Specimen Collection: Collect a urine sample in a sterile cup. Transfer the urine using the transfer pipette included in the cobas® PCR Urine Sample Kit to the cobas® PCR Media tube. Transfer enough urine so the level falls between the two black lines on the cobas® PCR Media tube. Cap the tube tightly and invert 5 times to mix the sample. Transport Temperature: Refrigerated Stability: Room Temp: 90 days (stabilized in cobas® PCR Media) Refrigerate: 90 days (stabilized in cobas® PCR Media) Frozen: Unstable Turn-around-time (From date of pickup of specimen by Labcorp): 3-4 days Cause for Rejection: Urine not submitted in cobas® PCR Media; under-filled or over-filled cobas® PCR Media tubes; leaking or broken tube; inadequate storage or transport
