Instructions
Blood, 2 or 3 mL Blue top tube (sodium citrate), full. NOTE: Hemolysis may cause sample rejection.


Transport Temperature
Specimen Stability: 4 hrs if unheparinized patient; if patient is on heparin specimen MUST be spun within 1 hr of collection and tested within 4 hrs of collection. (room temp. or refrigerated)   For transport and testing beyond 4 hrs, use double spin technique, and freeze plasma. Samples frozen at -20 C stable for two weeks. -70 C stable for 12 months. Maintain frozen during shipment.   All blue tubes must be filled with 2.7 mL of blood to maintain the proper blood to anticoagulant ratio.
