Preferred specimen: Serum collected in serum separator tube Acceptable specimen(s): Plasma collected in lavender top EDTA tube


Transport Temperature
Specimen: Serum or plasma Volume: 2.5 mL Minimum Volume: 0.7 mL (Note: This volume does not allow for repeat testing.) Specimen Container: Gel-barrier tube, lavender-top (EDTA) tube Specimen Collection: Centrifuge sample within 24 hours of collection. Transfer serum/plasma to a screw-cap polypropylene transport tube. Ship frozen (preferred). Plasma from a PPTâ„¢ can be frozen and shipped in situ. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit a separate frozen specimen for each test requested.
