Instructions

Adults: full gel-barrier tube *Minimum: 3 mL gel barrier tube*

Transport Temperature

Specimen: Serum or plasma Volume: 3.5 mL Minimum Volume: 1.1 mL (Note: This volume does not allow for repeat testing.) Container: PPT™, gel-barrier tube, or lavender-top (EDTA) tube Collection: Serum or plasma (EDTA) specimens may be used. Freshly drawn specimens (whole blood) may be held at 2°C to 30°C for six hours. Centrifuge specimen within six hours of collection. Remove serum or plasma, transfer to a screw-cap polypropylene transport tube. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested. Storage Instructions: Freeze. Stable at room temperature for six hours (whole blood) or one day after centrifugation. Stable refrigerated for 24 hours (whole blood) or three days after centrifugation. Freeze for long-term storage.
