Adults: 3 mL yellow gel tube *Pediatric minimum: 1 red microtainer*


Transport Temperature
Specimen Serum (preferred) or plasma Volume 1 mL Minimum Volume 0.1 mL pediatric (Note: This volume does not allow for repeat testing.) Container Red-top tube, gel-barrier tube, or lavender-top (EDTA) tube Collection Separate serum or plasma from cells within one hour. Transfer to a plastic transport tube before freezing. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested. Stability: Room temperature: 24 hours Refrigerated: 24 hours Frozen: 200 days
