Specimen: Serum and whole blood, and one peripheral blood film Volume: 4 mL serum and 7 mL ACD whole blood and 7 mL EDTA whole blood and one peripheral blood film Container: Red-top tube or gel-barrier tube and yellow-top (ACD-A) tube and lavender-top (EDTA) tube and slide Collection: Draw specimen so it will arrive in the laboratory Monday through Thursday and within 48 hours of collection. Storage Instructions: Refrigerate serum. Maintain whole blood and film at room temperature.
