Instructions

(1) Nasopharyngeal swab in universal transport medium or 0.5 mL respiratory wash (ie, nasal wash, nasal aspirate, or bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL)/wash)

Transport Temperature

Test Includes: Influenza A, influenza B, RSV A, RSV B, parainfluenza 1, parainfluenza 2, parainfluenza 3, rhinovirus, metapneumovirus, and adenovirus. Assay also subtypes influenza A virus (H1, 2009 H1, and H3) and adenovirus (B/E and C). Specimen: Nasopharyngeal swab in universal transport medium or respiratory wash (ie, nasal wash, nasal aspirate, or bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL)/wash) Volume: 0.5 mL wash or one swab Minimum Volume: 0.2 mL wash or one swab Container: Universal transport medium-swab; sterile container-BAL/wash or NP wash/aspirate Collection: To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested. Storage Instructions: Freeze (stable 28 days)
