Instructions

Collect specimens Monday - Wednesday only. Adults: 3 mL in EDTA (Lavender or Pink) *Pediatric minimum: 1.5 mL in EDTA (Lavender or Pink)*

Transport Temperature

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA). Specimen Volume: 3 mL Collection Instructions: Send specimen in original tube. Do not aliquot. Additional Information: 1. Date of draw is required. 2. For serial monitoring, we recommend that specimen draws be performed at the same time of day. Forms: If not ordering electronically, submit a General Request Form (Supply T239) with the specimen. Specimens are required to be received in the laboratory weekdays and by 4 p.m. on Friday. It is recommended that specimens arrive within 24 hours of draw. Specimens arriving on the weekend may be canceled. Draw and package specimen as close to shipping time as possible. Specimen stability: Whole Blood EDTA Ambient: 48 hours
