Instructions

Deliver to lab immediately. Use no anticoagulant for CSF specimens. Specimen Requirements: Upstate: Hematology should get the highest number tube if multiple tubes are collected, e.g. # 3 of 3. Midlands: If molecular pathology testing is ordered, molecular should get the highest number tube and hematology the next highest. Do not send specimens to the lab via the pneumatic tube system. CSF specimens should be walked to the lab.
