1 mL serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.5 mL) Also acceptable: plasma (heparin). Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Specimen Stability

Separator tubes. Plasma collected in citrate or oxalate/fluoride tubes. Hemolyzed specimens.

Limitations
Draw 30 minutes before next infusion. Allow specimen to clot completely. Separate serum or plasma from cells and freeze, if prolonged transport. Specimens should not be repeatedly frozen and thawed.
