One 4 mL plain red or serum separator tube. Also acceptable: green (sodium or lithium heparin), lavender (EDTA), or pink (K2EDTA).
Minimum Volume
1 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.2 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.
Transport Temperature
1 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.2 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.
Specimen Stability
After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 3 months
Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Grossly hemolyzed specimens.
