Any site or fluid.  Source of specimen is preferred.


Minimum Volume
Sterile container or swab in bacterial transport media at 20-25°C. Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.

Sterile container or swab in bacterial transport media at 20-25°C. Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.


Specimen Stability
Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: Unacceptable


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Dry specimens and nonsterile or leaking containers.
