Tissue, respiratory specimens, skin scrapings, corneal scrapings, hair, or nail clippings.


Minimum Volume
Room temperature. Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.


Instructions
Do not put nail clippings or hair in a moist environment (saline). Transport tissue, respiratory specimen, skin scrapings, corneal scrapings, hair, or nail clippings in a sterile container. Source of specimen is required.


Transport Temperature
Room temperature. Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.


Specimen Stability
Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: Unacceptable


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Swabs. Leaking or non-sterile containers.
