Preferred Specimen
One 4 mL serum separator tube or plasma separator tube. Also acceptable: green (sodium or lithium heparin).


Minimum Volume
1 mL serum or plasma, frozen. (Min: 0.5 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.


Transport Temperature
1 mL serum or plasma, frozen. (Min: 0.5 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.


Specimen Stability
After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 2 days; Frozen: 3 months


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
EDTA plasma.
