Preferred Specimen
Collect a green top tube with gel (PST) filled completely. Mix tube thoroughly after collection. Place specimen on wet ice for storage and / or transport.


Minimum Volume
Deliver to the lab within 10 minutes on wet ice.  (Min: 0.5 mL)


Transport Temperature
Deliver to the lab within 10 minutes on wet ice.  (Min: 0.5 mL)


Specimen Stability
Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 4 hours; Frozen: Unacceptable


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Ambient or frozen specimens.
