Sample red areas or areas with pus in throat. Use tongue blade to prevent touching tongue and/or teeth with swab.

Ambient.
Specimen Stability
Ambient =24 hours; otherwise refrigerate = 48 hours.
Methodology
Immunoassay (EIA). Negative screen reflexed to culture.
Setup Schedule
Specimens received 24/7. Testing performed Monday - Friday.

One hour reporting time.
Limitations
Yield directly related to quality of specimen submitted and number of organisms captured on swab(s).
Clinical Significance
