Conventional culture on selective (CIN) agar.

Setup Schedule
Specimen received and processed 24/7.


Report Available
Preliminary reports daily and when significant results detected. Final report after 2 days.


Limitations
Culture yield directly related to quality of specimen submitted.


Clinical Significance
Suspect Y. enterocolitica isolates submitted to the GA Public Health Laboratory for confirmation and reporting. Often associated with foodborne outbreaks.
