Conventional culture using selective Vibrio agar (TCBS).

Setup Schedule
Culture received and processed 24/7.


Report Available
Preliminary reports daily and when significant results detected. Final report after 2 days.


Limitations
Culture yield directly related to quality of specimen submitted.


Clinical Significance
Suspect Vibrio isolates submitted to the GA Public Health Laboratory for confirmation and reporting. Often associated with foodborne outbreaks.
