Vagina, other vaginal area sites.


Instructions
Swab infected area. Do not refrigerate, transport to Lab STAT.


Transport Container
Submit regular Eswab (white cap) or BD CultureSwab (red cap double swab).


Transport Temperature
Ambient.


Specimen Stability
24 hours ambient.


Methodology
Conventional culture.

Setup Schedule
Cultures accepted 24/7.


Report Available
Preliminary reports daily and when significant results detected. Final report after 3 days.


Limitations
Culture yield directly related to quality of specimen submitted.
