Preferred Specimen
Whole blood samples collected in or immediately transferred to Greiner 2 mL partial fill blue top tubes containing 3.2% sodium citrate.


Minimum Volume
Full tube, no partial fills.


Instructions
 1st draw regular blue top with 21 gauge needle, then draw the Vacuette tube. Fill to black line, invert 5 times


Transport Container
Do not send thur pneumatic tube system.


Specimen Stability
The Assay Window (length of time a specimen is acceptable for testing after collection) is 10 minutes to 4 hours. Transport to the laboratory within 3 hours of collection.
