Instructions
Transfer specimen to plastic transport tube before freezing. Serum must be separated from cells within 45 minutes of venipuncture. Send serum in a plastic transport tube.

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Inadequate quantity; inappropriate transport device; hemolysis; lipemia; gross bacterial contamination; improper labeling; specimen received after prolonged delay (usually more than 72 hours)


Methodology
Immunochemiluminometric (ICMA) or double antibody radioimmunoassay (RIA) when anti-Tg autoantibodies are present

Setup Schedule
Tg-ICMA = 4-6 days, Tg-RIA = 8-10 days
