Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
"Tumor block containing insufficient tumor tissue or tumor fixed in a heavy metal fixative; broken or stained slides
"
"
Methodology
"Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and pyrosequencing "
Limitations
"DNA is isolated from a formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) specimen and analyzed for mutations in the K-ras gene using PCR and pyrosequencing technologies. The methods used in this assay are highly sensitive, allowing the detection of approximately 5% of mutant in a background of wild-type genomic DNA.
