"Increased with pregnancy. Hazards: Therapeutic administration of erythropoietin has been associated with vascular thrombosis. Serum erythropoietin levels may be increased by phlebotomy, androgens, TSH, ACTH, angiotensin, epinephrine, and growth hormone levels. Transfusions and estrogens may lower erythropoietin levels
