Clinical Significance
"Intended for neonates with ambiguous genitalia who have mildly elevated
17-OH progesterone values on newborn screen in an effort to detect the
common and rare causes of CAH. Provides broad and complete assessment of
steroid metabolic function. This profile is often used before and after ACTH
stimulation. Six other pediatric steroid profiles are offered identiying
specific pathway defects associated with CAH and three other profiles are
offered to address late onset of CAH in adults.
